Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Monitoring:

    • Track inventory levels across various categories, including raw materials, finished products, and other textile-related items.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy between physical stock and inventory records.
  • Stock Management:

    • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
    • Manage stock replenishment, ensuring timely ordering and receiving of goods to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Analyze inventory data to forecast demand and make data-driven decisions for inventory management.
    • Prepare and present detailed inventory reports to management, highlighting trends, issues, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Supplier Coordination:

    • Liaise with suppliers and vendors to place orders, negotiate terms, and ensure timely delivery of products.
    • Address and resolve any issues related to deliveries, quality of goods, or discrepancies in orders.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Identify and implement improvements in inventory management processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Develop strategies for reducing excess inventory and minimizing stockouts.
  • System Management:

    • Utilize inventory management software and systems to track stock levels, manage orders, and maintain accurate inventory records.
    • Ensure proper data entry and updates in the inventory management system.
  • Stock Rotation and Control:

    • Implement effective stock rotation practices to minimize the risk of obsolescence and ensure that products are sold within their usable life.
    • Monitor inventory turnover rates and adjust stock levels accordingly.
  • Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with sales, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure alignment and coordination in inventory management.
    • Provide support and guidance to staff regarding inventory-related issues and procedures.
  • Compliance and Security:

    • Adhere to company policies and procedures related to inventory management, including health and safety regulations.
    • Ensure inventory security measures are in place to prevent theft and loss.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in inventory management or a similar role, preferably in a retail or textile environment.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and suppliers.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory records.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in inventory management or supply chain management (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with textile products and industry-specific inventory practices.
